| It is quite convenient these days to pray to a "God" in an abstract sense, or practice religions that tell us not to involve ourselves in worldly affairs and just await some heaven, paradise or nirvana. To ignore the plight of the poor, disenfranchised, oppressed, illiterate, or those suffering from diseases in our world is a great flaw in human character. To merely express "compassion" in a rhetorical fashion or through pseudo prayers and rituals is an insult to the great gift we have been afforded in attaining this human birth. Social activism, liberation theology, civil disobedience, and social transformation are not optional, but important responsibilities for anyone claiming to honor the path of SPIRITUAL growth. When we pay only lip-service to the needs of our fellow human beings we are doing a great injustice to them and the world. The greatest service we can offer to fulfil the special mission that the Creator (God) has given us is to perform volunteer and selfless sacrifice on behalf of our fellow human beings. If we truly claim to be a "believer" in God, we can't ignore the needs of others. The non-believer, or atheist also have an ethical and moral compulsion to perform acts of kindness and to assist in the evolution of humanity from the animal nature that scientist claim we have evolved from over the ages. The theory of 'Ikologiks' embraces ALL paths, traditions, religions, philosophies and ideologies that compel us to perform service to humanity and to render comfort to those in distress. Ikologiks is not merely an ideology or intellectual caveat, but is a total integrated system of revolutionary transformational praxis that urges us to understand that both the metaphysical and material realities must be harmonized if we are to claim our place in the universe as an advanced civilization. The Ikologiks website is a place to test your own ideas and to discover your own personal spiritual journey or to become active in the struggle to bring forth a global community that is not solely based on crass economic structures.
