An Important Message from Adisaji, founder ICGS

In April of 2009 I had the good fortune of visiting the Bandhavgarh National Park in
the Madhya Pradesh State of India. This park is known for the presence of a sizable
"white tiger" population as well as an abundance of deer, 22 species of mammals, and 250
species of birds. In addition, there is an ancient "fort" that is believed to be over 2,000
years old and mysterious caves with inscriptions & paintings whose origins are equally
unknown. I was deeply fascinated with the two-day trek into the forest of Bandhavgarh,
but saddened to encounter a tiger just briefly before leaving the park. Upon returning
to Jabalpur, India I began reading daily accounts about the sharp recent decline of the
tiger populations throughout India. It appears this decline is not only due to ongoing
"poaching". Buy, more recently there have been cases of poisoning the water holes that
tigers and other animals frequent, by villagers (tribals) living in or near the park
reserve who have lost their cattle to the tigers. Reading these accounts deeply saddened
me and so I am calling upon volunteers to help us (ICGS) to launch a new project called
the "Durga Orange & White Initiative".
