| The Ikologiks Center for Global Studies, 'Ikologiks theory' and our website are not affiliated with any particular religion, religious institution, theological ideal, or practice. Throughout the thirty years since the introduction of the 'Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life' the program has been non-sectarian, non-denominational and non-affiliated. Although this website focuses on things like meditation, Yoga and other spiritual technologies the visitors to this website should clearly understand 'Ikologiks' is not a sect of Hinduism, Buddhism or any other traditions that one might assume mediation and Yoga are currently affixed. This website and 'Ikologiks' as a whole welcomes men and women of all faiths and spiritual practices. We honor all the sacred religious traditions ranging from Islam to Christianity, Buddhism and beyond, but with the perspective that these are 'paths' are not the sole determiner of one's ability to aspire to or attain the gifts of higher-consciousness or human transformation. |
| This question is a bit difficult to answer. But, simply stated this website we admit does appear confusing to many of our visitors. However, this is a reflection of the fact that 'Ikologiks theory' and the 'Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life' were initialing introduced in 1977 in a way so it would become yet another dogma, ideology or 'ism' for people to follow. Instead, what this website is focused upon is the hard task of moving our entire understanding of philosophy and life beyond the current paradigm rooted in the classic Eastern/Western thought. This website introduces the term 'Central Philosophy' to reflect the unity and integration of the East/West paradigm, but in accordance with some very ancient principles. Additionally, 'Ikologiks' and this website is promoting a 'paradigm shift' away from the current Euro-centric world-view, pro-Western hegemony, and the separation of knowledge into the dualism of materialism and metaphysics. Consequently, you may find that the material on this site at times is hard to understand or simply is overwhelming due to the many different page themes or banner headings. The majority of people on this planet have been educated and socialized according to a global matrix rooted largely in western thought or the religious or cultural traditions affixed to particular climes, localities, nations and people. In most cases this is linear thinking and even the design of most websites follows that trend. Visitors to the website are urged to contact us with your specific questions about 'Ikologiks theory' to advance your understanding. |
| Question: Why is there so much focus on this 'Adisaji'? Is he some 'guru' or self-appointed leader? Haven't we had enough of this? |
| "Adisaji" Maina Omar or Roger Davis (birth name) is merely the founder of 'Ikologiks' and the driving force behind this website and the teachings being offered on it. He does not see himself, or ever claims to others to be a 'guru' in the mystical sense. Although, the term 'guru' simply means 'teacher' or one who dispels ignorance for knowledge. He often dresses in religious garb, which sometimes is confusing to some, but is only a reflection of his respect of various spiritual or religious traditions. He also respects the attire sometimes suited for meditation or Yoga practices. The website focuses a lot on him due to the respect given to our founder and the fact that he has continued for over twenty-five years to teach and serve students around the world. "Adisaji" states clearly 'Ikologiks' is not a 'cult' and he does not want "followers" but instead wants self-powered co-workers or "global partners" that are deeply committed to challenging the present world "order". He believes the current path of globalization is centering solely on economic relationships and is rooted in a falsification of human transformational principles. He states that this distortion is being perpetuated by corporations, the UN and banking institutions globally. Adisaji sees his primary mission as imparting to others what he has perceived and received in his own meditation practices and studies without demanding allegiances to him personally or to the 'Ikologiks' organizational structures themselves. The thrust of this teaching, however, is the "Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life" which he considers to be a direct transmission of higher guidance. "Adisa Maina Omar" was given his popular name in an African naming ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia USA (1979) since his ancestry is part African, Asian and European he sees himself as a bridge to all races, cultures and spiritual traditions. In the 1990s he began assuming the name "Adisaji" taking the addition of the term "ji" to his name which relates to the Sanskrit word "jivan". It is a term of affection often given to a spiritual teacher or Swami (i.e "Swamiji"). Although, Adisaji has traveled often to India and spent much time with some Indian "gurus" he does NOT consider himself to be a "follower" of Hinduism, or any particular Guru or sect and does not want 'Ikologiks' bound to Eastern traditions or other sects as well. Adisaji has worshipped personally in Mosques, Temples, Churches and of course in nature itself (outdoors) throughout his life in the celebration of the 'Great Spirit.' While he gives heavy weight to the importance of spiritual practices, nevertheless, Adisa Maina Omar to the consternation of many religious folks, embraces a rationalism and logical interrogation of the religious traditions, scriptures and their proponents that might offend some, frighten others, or confuse those who can't see how you integrate science, rationality and metaphysics, spirituality and mystical traditions altogether as some type eclectic potpourri. Adisa Maina Omar as a person and 'Ikologiks' as a movement for change to some may seem to hold numerous contradictions or inconsistencies. But, this is precisely in accord with the teaching he is introducing to the world that is going beyond dogma, ritual, mysticism, cult behavior and mindless absorption in the sensory pleasures of the modern material world. Adisa is calling out especially to those that "think outside the box" or refuse to be controlled and coerced into accepting life according to the dictates of religious leaders/institutions, governments and the corporate entities that have taken control of the world (plutocracy) through the coinage of currency, international banking system and global trade. Policies and realities that are impacting workers and the overall civil society in an unprecedented fashion around the globe. So what can we do about it all? Adisa is suggesting that personal transformation brings forth societal/global transformation. But, in order for that transformation to proceed we must move from an IT (Information Technology) focused world to a TT (Transformation Technology) world-view. |
