| We have created these "Tribute" pages because the main focus of Ikologiks Center for Global Studies is the celebration of "Life" or "Ankh Consciousness." We inner-stand that those that depart from this plain of consciousness due to illness, accident or old age have not really departed. The ancestors remain always with us in our hearts and minds, until the day comes when we join them in the transition. These pages are designed to celebrate the lives of those who have departed us since 2005 (when our website was founded), rather than throughout history. The selections for these pages have been personally made by Adisaji in order to express some connection, feeling or personal involvement he had with the person. So if someone you should feel or believe that someone they revere has not been honored on this website or mentioned, please understand it is not intentional and we apology for any offense in that regard. |

| Website Visitors Comments on the Transition of Michael J. Jackson -- Your Posts Here! |

matter our views about who he was in his personal life or what he represented to the world, I can say Michael J. Jackson did so much for others despite his own pain & loneliness. On this day I want to say - "NEVER CAN SAY GOODBYE! Michael Jackson was my contemporary, he would have been 51 this August and I just turned 54 this past April. He lived through the same images of the world I have seen, from the protests against the Vietnam War, to the urban riots, the civil rights movement, to the first man landing on the moon. So I find it hard to say goodbye to one I considered a classmate in the school of life. It was in my sophomore year while in attendance at Cornell University that I had the pleasure of seeing the Jackson Five featuring Michael Jackson live in concert in Syracuse, N. Y. (Syracuse Coliseum) We all piled into a special bus rented for the occasion and I almost didn't go because I was broke at the time. I finally had to borrow some money for the ticket. The bill featured the Ohio Players, K. C. & the Sunshine Band, Tavares and the J 5. The screams of joy when the J 5 took the stage were deafening and when I saw that small young boy named Michael do his "stuff" I knew I would remember that day forever. When the J 5 disbanded and both brothers Michael & Jermaine Jackson launched their solo careers many were disheartened. But, I loved them both & grew to see that Michael was certainly the one who would endure. So in the 70s and 80s the MJ the world grew to love emerged, especially in the aftermath of his collaborations with Quincy Jones on Thriller & Off the Wall. It was not until 1987 that Michael Jackson came back into focus for me in a very personal way. It was in that year when I did my first nationally televised interview about IKOLOGIKS on the Black Entertainment Television (BET) series "On the Line" hosted by Doris McMillian that is song "Man In the Mirror" video was used to roll with the credits. Thus, I was really kinda surprised sitting in the studio when the interviewed ended, as they rolled the credits, that the Michael Jackson video "Man In the Mirror" was being played. Later, I reflected to friends and students how appropriate that song was for the interview. Because, Ikologiks was all about CHANGE & HUMAN TRANSFORMATION, but it is first making CHANGE within ourselves that is so important & yet difficult. I think that might of been the time when I first thought about what has become the Ikologiks credo "transforming lives from within & without!" But, it is also the "mirror" that became the hallmark of how Ikologiks training is accomplished. I too, employ the "mirror" in my own life -- because, change is important. So to my dear Michael, I want to thank you SO MUCH for inspiring me to start with the "man in the mirror" and make that CHANGE! Something we all might want to consider in light of the recent election of Barack Obama who ran his campaign on change. You see the Change we Can Really Believe in is the one we MAKE in ourselves to make CHANGE in the world possible.
