We Celebrate & Honor the Life & Triumphs of the Champion of the Historic Black American Civil Rights Movement of the 1950s, 60s & 70s! ROSA PARKS (1913 - 2005)

Rosa Louise McCauley was born on Feb. 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Alabama. She was married to Raymond Parks in 1932, who inspired her to become involved in the NAACP as an activist. Rosa Parks was responsible for igniting the modern Civil Rights Movement and the legacy of the champions of civil rights like Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. (SCLC) and Jesse Louis Jackson (Rainbow Coalition, Operation P.U.S.H.) when she refused to sit in the 'back of the bus' during the period of Jim Crow (segregation/US apartheid). She will be forever remembered around the world of the perfect example of "service to humanity" and sacrifice on behalf of the needs of others. We wish to honor and pay tribute to this legendary woman, whose simple act of deviance changed America forever and as a byproduct transformed the world!

We have created this page because the main focus of Ikologiks Center for Global Studies is the celebration of "Life" or "Ankh Consciousness." We inner-stand that those that depart from this plain of consciousness due to illness, accident or old age have not really departed. The ancestors remain always with us in our hearts and minds, until the day comes when we join them in the transition. These pages will celebrate the lives of those leaving us since 2005, and beyond, rather than throughout history.
