Technique, Yoga Therapy, Reiki (Radiance Technique), Vedic Hypnotherapy (Dharana Healing), and Lifestyle Assessment Training since the early 1980s. He was the founder of the International Academy of Ikologiks & Advanced Studies, Inc. and former Executive Director of the Stress Aid Institute of the Washington Metro Area. Adisaji is a certified Yoga Therapist and graduate of the Indian Institute of Yoga (Diploma In Yoga Therapy, 1987). He is also a graduate of Cornell University and he attended the Graduate School of International Studies, Korea University (Seoul, South Korea). He has undertaken spiritual study under the guidance of several prominent spiritual teachers and masters beginning in the early 1970s with his initiation into the "TM Technique" of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. He has also studied with and/or taken initiations since the 70s with his Yoga Therapy teacher Phulgenda Sinha, PhD, Gurumayi (Syda Yoga lineage), Swami Nityananda, Ananda Marga (Prout Universalist), Sri Satya Sai Baba, Islamic Fakir Ali Prasad, B.T. Swami (formerly Swami Krsnapad), Ammachi Amitamayi (Mother), and Solara of the 11:11 Activiations. His academic mentors have included Dr. James Turner, Dr. Yosef Ben-Jochanan, Dr. James Forman, Dr. Theodore Lowi, Dr. Uri Brofenbrener, Dr. Phulgenda Sinha, among many others. Adisaji has dedicated the past 25 years of his adult life in service to humanity, teaching and inspiring thousands with his charismatic approach to disseminating tools of applied transformational technology, self-empowerment and social activism. Adisaji was born in the Bronx, New York in the year 1955, in a low-income public housing project called Edenwald Houses. He was raised as an Episcopalian Christian (Anglican, Church of England). His early childhood was largely focused on his concern over issues of environmental pollution and environmental justice. In 1970 at the young age of 15 he founded the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc. and later set a world record for being the youngest individual to receive a US Federal Research Grant (age 17) prior to even attending college. During the 1970s as a fledgling social activist, environmentalist and black nationalist, Adisaji (Adisa Maina Omar) focused his early attention on the plight of the oppressed throughout the black diaspora, but soon broadened his studies and perspectives to see the needs of all human beings to shed the shackles of oppression regardless of race, creed, nationality or religion. In the foot-steps of Al Hajj Malik Al Shabazz (Malcolm X) Adisaji in the 1990s evolved beyond his earlier race focused activist work, research and theories. He has now applied the theory of Ikologiks to the wide spectrum and diversity that embraces the entire human family. In 1979 he adopted the name Adisa Maina Omar. The name was given to him in an official African naming ceremony conducted in Atlanta, Georgia. The name "Adisa" is from the Yoruba language of Nigeria and means "one with clear thought." The name Maina is from the region of Tanzania and means the "developer of a utopia political and economic system". The last name "Omar" is from the Arabic language and is a name favored with some of the most fervent believers in Al Islam. It means one who is a "true believer." His students affectionately now call him "Adisaji" which is a bridge to the Sanskrit or Indian links he has established as a spiritual guide and teacher. In the 1980s he also took the name Rameshvar following his initiation into the Ananda Marga Meditation system. Also, in the late 80s he took initiations with the "angelic workshops" of the 11:11 and the Academy for Future Science, which is when he received the name "Baba Ur Deon Solek".
Gales and Tanya Strivers to provide serious students of Ikologiks with an opportunity to deepen their own spiritual practices. In 1990 the first video documentary on Ikologiks and the life of Adisaji was produced by Skip Calloway of Kuumba Productions and entitled "Ecologics: The Silent Revolution." In 1991, Adisaji produced and recorded his first guided meditation cassette/CD series entitled "The Slumber of Osiris/Shava Asana" Self-Empowerment Series. In 1999 his first major published work on the Iko-Meditation Technique was released entitled "Ultimate Mental Power." Adisaji has recently spent four years living abroad in South Korea teaching at two Universities (Keimyoung University in Daegu and Youngsan University in Pusan). He taught Yoga and meditation programs at both Universities in addition to ESL. In 2004 he attended the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University. Currently, Adisaji resides in the city of Bangalore, INDIA, where he continues writing and offering the teachings embodied in Ikologiks theory.
all around the world. Instead, he teaches the traditional classical Samkhya (Sankhya) and Raja Yoga taught by the Indian sages Kapila (700 BCE) and Patanjili (400 BCE). Adisaji has initiated hundreds of students throughout the world in the practice of his originally conceived practice of the Iko-Meditation Technique and his conveyance of the Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life. The special Ikologiks Meditation Intensives & Advances he periodically conducts around the USA and other parts of the world includes the activating gift of Kundalini-Shakti so that students directly experience the 'power of the self & divine' or their connectedness to the Higher Power (God). The Ikologiks Center for Global Studies is the primary institution in the world certifying students in the teachings of Adisaji and the Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life. Adisaji embodies and imparts the virtues of kindness, patience, humility, fortitude, humor, selfless service, infinite love and compassion as so many of his former students can attest. He always offers a sincere respect for all he meets and does not assert a dogma, ideology or "truth" that one must accept in order to become his student or embark on the path of initiation offered in Ikologiks training. Adisaji is a teacher that still teaches in the traditional way, with patience, humility and an emphasis on students learning through nature and by example. He has consecrated his life in total surrender and submission to God through service to humanity. He does not view himself as a mystic or "guru," nor does he assert that he is perfect. Adisaji simply offers what he can to those willing and open minded to receive. He recently stated, "until we can clearly see how and why we must transcend our ego driven passions for the joys of the material world, we will not know the real bounty that awaits us, the Harvest of MAAT (Dharma)." |
