 “The Omnicentric vs. Isocentric, or Process Theory
vs. Discipline Theory
are placed as if they are opposed to one
another in this ‘Plate.’ However, the student should understand
this has been done solely to distinguish them so you can
observed how you are being manipulated into accepting only one-
side of this equation. It is the present-day dominance of the
Isocentric worldview with it’s subsets embedded in the ego
filled
Euro-centrism, African-centrism, Asian-centrism or the idea
that one ‘standard’ or normative value suffices for us all that is
being challenged in this ‘Plate’. However, in the ultimate
expression & the thesis embodied in the ‘Nine Principles’ there
is no such division (s) between the Omnicentric vs. Isocentric
since in reality the
Omnicentric is INCLUSIVE of both!”

Omnicentric holistic perspective
and the
‘Iko-Education’ paradigm is ‘Central Philosophy’
studies.
Central Philosophy itself serves as the nexus between
Cosmologics & Ikologiks & therefore invites us to move
beyond the biases inherent in
Western thought vs. Eastern
thought
as the most prevalent paradigms that tend to dominate
much of our thinking in today’s world. ”
When the Ikologiks: Nine Principles of Life were
first made public in 1979 in Atlanta, Georgia &
Washington, DC this principle entitled
"Omnicentric vs. Isocentric" was perhaps the
most controversial & simultaneously developed the
most interest among students of
Ikologiks theory.
Why? Because, this principle makes an unabashed
indictment of our current educational system,
rooted in the western pedagogic ideas of the 17th
through 20th centuries.

This principle focuses on the differences between
process theory vs. discipline theory & the
integrated learning process vs. linear approach to
human learning. It is this examination of the
methodology of human learning vs. methodology
of human transformation
that decidedly
establishes the
"Nine Principles" as a fiat
curriculum & instructional design that quite hard
for most to grasp. Because, we are programmed to

"think" inside boxes
& within disciplines and
categories.
So the modern human being has largely
lost the capacity to
"think outside the box" or
dialectically, or in ways that are truly holistic, or
embrace
synchronicity.
