From 1971 to 1972  the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc. under the leadership of Roger M Davis would become nationally
recognized. The organization was able to go beyond the Bronx as it was serving to advise such national groups as "Keep America
Beautiful", Sierra Club, and the Environmental Action Coalition. In 1972 Roger M Davis would become the youngest person in
recent US history to receive a Federal Research grant under the Department of HEW (Human Services). The grant project funded
for $64,000.00 (quite a figure in those days) was entitled the 'Youth/Adult Cooperative Development Program.' The project was
based upon concepts that had emerged in the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc. on dealing with the environmental concerns of the
poor, inner city residents and the urban environment. During the 70s Davis further elucidated upon his original thesis on the theory of
'Black Ecology' and the importance of dealing not only with issues of environmental conservation, but with environmental justice and
the plight of the most affected populations of environmental pollution located in the inner cities of America. However, the B.E.S., Inc.
and this early stage in the development of "Ikologiks" would come to an end when Roger M Davis was accepted to attend the Ivy
League - Cornell University in 1973.
In 1973 Roger Davis entered Cornell University attending the College of Human Ecology. It was during his studies at Cornell that he
would refine the theoretical constructs he first introduced in 1970 with the 'Black Ecology' theory.

The year 1977 marked the most important year in the origins and development of the present-day  Ikologiks Center for Global
Studies, because it would bring into existence the 'Ecologiks: Nine Principles of Life'. Roger M Davis had taken up the practice of
meditation in 1976 and just one year into his practices he would take the bold step of seeking an answer to the "human enigma"
through the tool of meditation (similar to how the Buddha sought an answer to the cause of human suffering by meditation). The
result was an intense spiritual awakening that brought him into an awareness of the "Nine Principles of Life" as a definitive
road-map in assisting others with attaining personal transformation. The original pictographs/ideographs that comprise these
principles continue to guide the current Ikologiks theoretical models to this day including the Ikologiks Center for Global Studies.

The first official 'Ecologics' training programs were launched in 1978 -1979 in the city of Atlanta, Georgia. In 1980
the training programs were expanded to Washington, DC and New York City.
The above video clip shows Roger M. Davis being interviewed in 1972
when he served as Executive Director of the Bronx Environmental Society,
Inc. While, some discount the value or importance of "Ikologiks" there is
no doubt that Roger Davis (Adisaji) is a seasoned social activist & theorist
since his early childhood.
