The Ikologiks Historical Timeline
The Journey from the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc.  ....

Part 1: 1955 - 1970
Founded 1979 - Incorporated 1989
The period from 1955 to 1970 was not exactly a significant period in the development of the current theory of Ikologiks.
However, the embryonic seeds planted during these years and the events surrounding the early life of Roger M Davis (Adisaji)
did lay a foundation for the ultimate creation of Ikologiks theory. The 1960s era of anti-war protest, civil disobedience, non-
violent social action, black power movement, and the post-World War II bipolar divisions of the Soviet Union and USA marked
a dramatic period in world history. This epoch of history made it  ripe for the development of new ideas and approaches to
world wide institutions of trade and global governance. Thus, the Trilateral Movement, WTO, and the EU were significant
indicators of this trend that in the 21st Century seems destined to produce a "one world government."
In 1970 the seeds began to sprout when Roger Davis was inspired by the social activism surrounding him as a youth and
became interested in ecology and environmental movement. The founding of the Bronx Environmental Society, Inc. in 1970
and the introduction of the term 'Black Ecology' marked the beginning of what soon would lead to the work of the Ikologiks
    Center for Global Studies.

In the summer of 1970 Davis attended a youth leadership development program in White Plains, NY (Encampment for
Citizenship) where he chaired the environment committee. It was during this program that he was able to consolidate his
ideas for the creation of not only the BES, Inc. but the publishing of a Journal Magazine he entitled 'The Millennium.'  Today,
that journal has returned as the Official Journal of the Ikologiks Center for Global Studies. The early issues of the publication
focused on the emerging theory of 'Black Ecology' and his quest to broaden the lens of the then narrowly defined
ecology/environmental movement to include environmental justice and issues of human ecology.
